Pumpkin festival in Boston
The City of Boston bears the world record for most lighted jack-o’-lanterns at one event: thirty thousand one hundred and tweny eight, carved and lighted during the 2006 Pumpkin Festival. Last year’s attempt to better that record came short, but they’re going for it once again today. The event is a benefit/awareness raiser for Camp Sunshine, a summer camp for children with life threatening illnesses. City Hall Plaza, noon to 8 p.m. Free.
