Tools of the Ghost Hunting trade
by ghostmap

You can’t find ghosts without the right tools. Here are what members of the Arizona Paranormal Society bring to most investigations:

EVRs (electronic voice recorders): These sensitive recorders are placed where spirits are believed to reside in hopes of capturing words that cannot be heard by the human ear. When the investigation is finished, members listen carefully to every recording for EVPs (electronic voice phenomena).

Infrared cameras: These cameras, capable of picking up detail in dark rooms, are hooked to digital video recorders to provide a visual record. As with voice recordings, investigators observe every second of video for evidence.

EMF (electromagnetic field) detectors: These handheld devices register disturbances in the electromagnetic field, which can be a sign of ghosts (believed to be electrical in nature). But anything that draws power can disturb the field, from refrigerators to exposed wiring.

Energy boxes: These homemade boxes emit ions and other forms of energy so spirits can draw enough power to speak, touch or manifest themselves.

Thermometers: For spot checks of temperatures, as “cold spots” are a sign of possible ghostly infestation.

Energy drinks: Investigations last into the wee hours, and investigators often face long drives home to be back in time for their day jobs. The society conducts investigations throughout the state.

Reader Submited Story
by ghostmap

My Dad died in July of 2003, he’d had a long fight with serious emphysema for approximately five years. My whole family was torn up over him passing away. We were at the cometary for the funeral service. When the service had ended, everybody heard this loud clunk clunk clunk sound and the sound over something dragging on the ground. I swung around to see what was going on, There was a gentleman wearing golf shoes( they’ve got these metal cleats on them) carrying his golf bag and dragging a different bigger bag on the ground, This was in the middle of a cemetary, there was no golf course anywere near by,it was such a strange sight, My husband came up to me and told me that is a sign from your dad, ( belies there are always a sign at a funeral) . My daddy enjoyed golf, when he got really sick he could not play any more , he would play only on his computer. I believe he was letting everybody know he was ok now.

Ouija board’s
by ghostmap

The Ouija board is frequently a issue that arises whenever I have a conversation discussing ghosts. Are Ouija boards evil? Do Ouija boards work? These are the more common inquiries. I’ll try to give you an understandable response  based on my experience in the paranormal.
I do not think that the Ouija board is really any more evil than your phone is. Pretend you’re in the USA and a friend is in France. You are able to start a conversation just by calling his telephone number and hoping he will pick up on the other end. Although this is a great deal more clear than getting hold of a spirit or entity through some device, the concept is not that far off. This does nonetheless, face the first flaw of employing the Ouija board.
Now imagine that you do not have a telephone number to contact your friend. You pick up the telephone, dial an area code in his proximity, and then dial seven random numbers. You might be on the correct track with the area code, but other than that it’s a matter of luck. Your probability of contacting him are almost none. You’re most likely to get hold of somebody on the other end that has no idea who you’re searching for but is friendly. You might even encounter somebody who’s furious with your phone call and is very unaccommodating. The least likely is getting hold of somebody that will search for you and intend you harm.
Now employing the Ouija board  is a great deal like this in that most people have no way to direct questions to anybody particular. Even if contact is made, there’s no actual way to determine that it really is who they claim to be. Therefore asking for anybody who answers to communicate with the user.
Possibly the greatest danger of employing the Ouija board is the negative stigma that’s been connected to it. With all the tales of animated Ouija boards and summoning of evil, it would be just about impossible to have a clear mind and positive thoughts during use. As with any aspect of existence, whenever you deal with negativity, you’ll find more negativity.
There’s no power unique to the Ouija board. The claims made by users are no different than claims made by mediums and spiritualists for centuries. The Ouija board isn’t necessary to achieve spirit communications, simply it will focus the users thoughts and concentration on the matter.
