Old Washoe Club in Virginia City

Are you brave enough to walk into a crypt that at one time was used to house frozen bodies? Would you be able to use the bathroom if you knew in the back of your mind that someone might be watching you? Whenever you find yourself visiting the Lake Tahoe or Reno, Nevada area, then you should really try to work in a stop to the old west town of Virginia City.
Virginia City is known to have hundreds of ghosts. Among the most haunted locations is the Old Washoe Club. In the late 1800s it was actually known as the Millionaires Club of the Washoe, the establishment catered to affluent and elite gentlemen who earned their fortunes during the silver and gold mining days of the city. Nowadays, visitors can wet their whistle at the saloon or for the genuinely brave, visit the haunted museum. So much paranormal activity has been reported that it’s drew in many ghost hunters including Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin of the Travel Channel TV series Ghost Adventures. Visitors to the museum can view the actual shirt that Bagans wore during his investigation along with the Ouija board the team used. Additional items are on display.
Adjacent to the museum is a crypt. During the wintertime, dead bodies were piled up and stored here. Once the warmer weather came along and the bodies thawed out, they were removed and buried in one of the many cemeteries located in the area. Step inside if you dare. Women wanting to use the restroom should be informed that ghostly activity has been reported here. Imagine trying to go to the bathroom only to hear a ghost say, “Howdy Ma’am”.
While tourists can only visit the main level of the Old Washoe Club, ghosts are said to frequent the upper levels as well. Among the most prevailing spirits at this location is one who’s known by the name of Lena. She’s believed to be a prostitute who was murdered in the building. There’s also the ghost of a little girl, among others. If a creepy crypt inside a haunted saloon, including a haunted bathroom, in an old west mining town sounds intriguing and if you happen to be in the Lake Tahoe/Reno area of Nevada, be sure to stop by Virginia City. You won’t be disappointed
