Who said you’ve gotta watch films like It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf and A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve? A lot of people prefer something a little bit spookier around the holidays and no, I am not referring to one of the numerous adaptations of A Christmas Carol. This Dec 24, Syfy will be airing a big Ghost Hunters marathons for people prefer their holiday entertainment to be presented for the most part in night-vision.
Syfy has Ghost Hunters set to start airing on the evening of December 23rd all the way through to 11:00 p.m. on December 24th!
This is just way to funny Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson are pimping their co-owned Spalding Inn as a “haunted inn”. They claim they have had personal experiences here and even brought their wives in on it. Now thats all well and good but it just strikes me as super odd that the only people who say it is haunted are on a ghost hunters show and on top of that they feature their new business on an episode of Ghost Hunters.
The experiences recounted ALL could be easily explained and debunked and anybody with half a brain should be able to see all this is just an attempted to make money off the ghost hunter names. If Pilgrim and Sci-Fi give these guys so much pull that they can blatantly conduct a fake episode and promote to death via the web this “haunting” they own then I ask all you ghost hunter viewers to turn off scifi in protest.
It makes me sick that these guys are playing like the Spading Inn in Whitefield, NH. is the next Stanley Hotel or Hotel Del Coronado and this is just crazy. There are no facts to support this and actual experts I’ve asked actually claim the area is actually on the low end of paranormal activity so low in fact your just as likely to see a ghost in your own home.
Has it only been 5 seasons? Ghost Hunters started in 2004 and I’ll admit the first season was ok except for the ocassional faked scene and the whole fake roto router guys. Here we are it’s 2009 and now nearly every event that takes place on the show is staged and they still want us to beleive they are plumbers. Come on SciFy almost nobody is dumb enough to beleive this show anymore.
I do admit I still watch it from time to time to see Laurel and Hardy err I mean Steve and Tango. They are the shows written in comic releif. I guess the only way to prove to some people may be to post a copy of a script from one of the episodes I happen to get my hands on. It hasn’t aired yet so let me see if I can legaly post it.
On October 23, 2008, TV Guide reported that Sci Fi will launch a spin-off of the show called Ghost Hunters: College Edition, which will feature co-eds in the ghost hunter roles.
Is it just me or does seem like somebody is trying to get the audiance Parinormal State has stated to draw. What’s next Ghost Hunters Senior Edition with Senior’s having hart atacks from the fright. Come on guys 2 shows is enough.

This residential area of London best known for the song A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, is also home to the most haunted house in London! Number 50 Berkeley Square is home to a large number of ghosts, the earliest of which is that of a young girl murdered in the 1700s by a sadistic servant. She is frequently seen on the top floor sobbing and wringing her hands in despair. Another woman trying to escape her uncle fell from a window – her ghost is often seen hanging from a windowsill. While the house was vacant in the 1870s, the neighbors heard numerous screams and moans coming from the house. They also heard furniture moving, bells ringing, and windows being slammed shut. Years later the house was occupied by a Mr. Dupre, who locked his insane brother in a room on the top floor. He fed the insane man through a special opening in the door. This is the room that is supposed to be central to the haunting. The house is currently home to a bookstore – strange occurrences have been noted by all of the staff of the shop. The top floor is kept locked at all times and no one is allowed to enter it.
Well I suffered through this investigation just in case something really happened that I couldn’t find an explanation for. After about the first half-hour I guess they decided to drop the music/sound effects. Initially the creepy ambient music was so loud I could barely hear the team members talking.
Intruder alert: Jay and Grant are sitting in the kitchen and some guy wearing a miner’s helmet, with light shining, comes walking through the door. Oops. Don’t you love live television? What was this guy doing sneaking around the site during an investigation? And how many other production crew members are also in the building? This, if nothing else does, taints the whole investigation.
“You don’t belong here.” Yet another tinny voice talking to Jay and Grant. I reckon these spirits only talk to the guys in charge. The voice sounded like it was coming from a walkie-talkie.
Grant does a Marcel Marceau routine of a man getting tugged by the jacket from behind. Three times. How does Jay keep a straight face? (Watch the clip he’s pulling on a string in his pocket.)
Come on guys enough with the fake stuff. Ghosts are real why you gotta try to fake stuff
You can’t find ghosts without the right tools. Here are what members of the Arizona Paranormal Society bring to most investigations:
EVRs (electronic voice recorders): These sensitive recorders are placed where spirits are believed to reside in hopes of capturing words that cannot be heard by the human ear. When the investigation is finished, members listen carefully to every recording for EVPs (electronic voice phenomena).
Infrared cameras: These cameras, capable of picking up detail in dark rooms, are hooked to digital video recorders to provide a visual record. As with voice recordings, investigators observe every second of video for evidence.
EMF (electromagnetic field) detectors: These handheld devices register disturbances in the electromagnetic field, which can be a sign of ghosts (believed to be electrical in nature). But anything that draws power can disturb the field, from refrigerators to exposed wiring.
Energy boxes: These homemade boxes emit ions and other forms of energy so spirits can draw enough power to speak, touch or manifest themselves.
Thermometers: For spot checks of temperatures, as “cold spots” are a sign of possible ghostly infestation.
Energy drinks: Investigations last into the wee hours, and investigators often face long drives home to be back in time for their day jobs. The society conducts investigations throughout the state.
