Susan Boyle claims Her Home Is Haunted By Her Deceased Mother
by ghostmap

Susan Boyle has come out and admitted that she believes her home is haunted by the spirit of her late mother and insists that she’s encountered her at least once since she passed away 4 years ago.
The Scottish star, who became an overnight music sensation after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, was devoted to her mother Bridget and was devastated when she passed away at the age of 91, back in 2007.

In fact it was Mrs. Boyle who had inspired her daughter to try out for the television program and the vocalist has frequently spoken of how she wanted to dedicate her success to her dearly departed mother.

Now she’s insisted that she encounters her mother’s ghost in the former council house they shared in Blackburn, West Lothian.

When asked about her paranormal which grants Boyle say’s“The council house is my mother’s house. Her energy is still there. It’s my comfort zone. My mother said, ‘look after my house and look after my cat Pebbles’, and that’s what I did. I’ve actually seen my mother in the house. She wasn’t troubled. I think she was letting me know she was all right. There was a lovely smell. Perhaps it was her perfume, I’m not sure.”

She added: “I used to think she’d abandoned me when she died. Maybe she was telling me she hadn’t.”

Susan Boyle who is now 50 years old, has moved back into the former family home she shared with her brothers and sister from a bigger more modern home she had purchased nearby after feeling uncomfortable and lonely.

Bridget’s death in 2007 for time had deeply affected Susan who stopped singing as she was so grief-stricken. Eventually however, Susan remembered how much faith her mother had in her, and decided to give professional singing one last attempt.

I have known idea if her home is actually haunted, but I do know that holding onto someone dear to us can prevent them from completely crossing over. Perhaps that is what has happened here. In this case if her spirit truly is inside the home I see no harm in it, in fact it may be just what a lonely old woman needed to have faith in herself and leave her mark

Haunted Houses Are Big Business: What You Need To Know Before You Go
by ghostmap

Just imagine you just made a major purchase buying a property, you spent thousands of dollars getting it up to code only to find out once you’re finished that it’s haunted.

Most of us probably would be upset however if your a person who’s in the hunted house business any credited reports that suggest your property might really be haunted is a potential moneymaker.

Bud Stross operates and owns the Dent Schoolhouse a haunted attraction in Cincinnati built at a old schoolhouse which supposedly was the site of a mass murder. The schoolhouse opened in 1894 and was closed in the mid-1950s after it was discovered that the school janitor Charlie McFee supposedly killed some of the children and put their bodies in the basement of the school.

There have been many reported “ghostly encounters” at the schoolhouse but I for one would caution that these may just be a marketing ploy because there are no records to prove the bloody history of the schoolhouse. The only records we were able to uncover where that the schoolhouse is an school District 12. The owner claims this is proof of a cover-up and corruption by the school district. I for one think that if this were a true story the local newspaper would have at least ran a story on it back in the 50s.

I know for a fact there are at least a dozen haunted attractions that are haunted. These places tend to play up their past and rightfully so. With Halloween coming on I would suggest you just enjoy a good fright from a local “haunted house” and not seek out a real one because many times you’re just going to be disappointed due to false claims from greedy owners as a result of the popularity of ghost hunting television programs. So just use your brain and computer before you plop down money on a possibly faked ghost encounter.

Pennhurst is now a Haunted House attraction

Pennhurst State Hospital

After sitting idle for more than two decades, the grounds of the old Pennhurst State Hospital will awaken with shrieks and screams when the darkness of night come this Friday and the Pennhurst Asylum haunted attraction opens to the public.

In the 30 minutes or so it will take customers to walk through the attraction, Pennhurst landowner Richard Chakejian said guests will receive a little bit of a history lesson while participateing in “a fun-filled Halloween event,” and perhaps even experience a little real life paranormal activity.

There are many accounts of unexplained experiences that have occurred on the grounds since crews began working to create the haunted attraction, Chakejian said, noting that his younger brother who runs a recycling business on the property thinks the property and buildings are haunted.

Jim Soufflas, who manages and trains the actors hired for the haunt and was on site Wednesday when Chakejian gave The Mercury a tour of the attraction, said people who have been working on the scenes for the attraction also believe Pennhurst is haunted.

“They’ve had some weird things happen they couldn’t explain,” Soufflas said, noting that those experiences make going to Pennhurst more desirable for many people looking for a good scare.

With the use and occupancy permit from the township in hand and a permit issued from the Department of Agriculture Amusement Ride Safety Program, Chakejian said the attraction will open its doors Friday. Preparations to open were in full swing Wednesday, undeterred by a lawsuit filed Tuesday by a township resident seeking a court injunction to halt the property development.

Although he declined to disclose the number of pre-sale tickets sold for opening night, Chakejian said he hopes “a lot” of people come out and experience the haunt, which will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through Nov. 7.

Pennhurst Asylum, according to its Web site, www.pennhurstasylum.com, will be open from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $50. Tickets may be purchased through the Web site.

This photo was taken in 1959. It was the house I grew up in. The house scared me to death when I was little. An entire family died in it during the flu epidemic and were buried in the yard. My dad used to plow up tombstones when he plowed the garden. When my mother died we had photos put on CDs. When I was zooming in on the photo is when I saw the lady in the window on the right. All these years I just thought it was a reflection. We all saw her at some time in our lives while we were growing up. I assume it’s the mother of the dead children because nobody was in the house. I hope you will be able to see it clearly because I couldn’t upload the entire picture. If you can zoom up on it she almost looks skeletal in the face. Very creepy. There are no curtains on the windows. The house was empty for years until we moved into it. As you can tell it was in disrepair. I submitted the entire photo to the ghost hunter website in our state and they deemed it genuine. They were as amazed as I was.
