The Dead Files is coming to the Travel Channel
by ghostmap

The Travel Channel has ordered an 8 episode 1st season of The Dead Files, a fact-finding one-hour series that teams Steve DiSchiavi, a retired Homicide Detective with the New York City Police Department with more than 21 years of active service with psychic communicator Amy Allan who has an established sixth sense and an affinity for speaking with the dead. The partners research each case on their own and then connect at the end to compare notes.
The series, which will premiere Sept 23, will be paired with the 5th season of Ghost Adventures. “Our Friday night series takes viewers beyond the haunted destinations — They provide a different type of escape, providing a taste of the other side and a new perspective on their own surroundings,” said the channel’s SVP of programming and development Fred Graver.

Dead Files hails from Painless Productions with Jim Casey serving as executive producer and John C. Fitzgerald and Ross Kaiman on board as co-executive producers. David E. Gerber is billed as an executive producer for the Travel Channel.

Paranormal Challenge hosted by Zak Bagans is casting
by ghostmap

Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans (the dude with the spikey hair) will be staring in an upcoming Travel Channel series Paranormal Challenge. Paranormal Challenge is a new tv show scheduled to premiere at 9 p.m. June 17 on Travel Channel. Bagans will hosts the series, which will feature two teams on ghost-hunting missions.

In each episode of “Paranormal Challenge,” Bagans will invite two teams of amateur ghost hunters to spend the night locked down inside haunted hotspots. During the night, the teams put their paranormal skills to the test by conducting a ghost investigation with high-tech gear and their own knowledge. The teams will then present their findings to Bagans and a panel of three paranormal experts who judge the teams on teamwork, use of technology and evidence collected during the lockdown, according to a series description from Travel Channel. The series has already filmed at Eastern State Penitentiary near Philadelphia, Pa., and an old prison in Mansfield, Ohio, and about a half dozen other locations.

Ghost Adventures Clovis Wolfe Manor
by ghostmap

The creepy old home on Clovis Avenue that’s been at different times a sanitarium, a convalescent home and a Halloween attraction has now become something new  – a paranormal destination.
Wolfe Manor, is the site of popular spirit-seeking tours and a Web-based ghost investigation show.  This week, it will be featured on an episode of the Travel Channels hit ghost reality show Ghost Adventures. It is set to air  Friday, January 8th, at 9 E/P.
In it’s 70 years of operation Wolfe Manor became the final resting place for thousands of people. The originals owners lost the home in the great depression. After sitting vacant for years, Wolfe Manor was turned into the Clovis Sanitarium. Former employees tell numerous stories about poor conditions,  mistreatment, and abuse of patients.
Wolfe Manor housed 100-150 patients at a time until it was closed in 1997. Overcrowding was a constant problem, making it difficult for any patient to receive proper care. The rooms were so overcrowded that some patients slept in the hallways. With so many patients and a shortage of staff, there were a lot of deaths inside the mansion. Since there was no local coroner to come for the deceased the bodies had to be stored in the basement. They were sometimes there for days at a time.
The spirits are Wolfe Manor are very “hands on.” While researching some of the history behind the mansion Zak asks paranormal investigator Terry Campbell if he has ever been physically touched. “All the time. That is the most frequent thing that happens here,” Terry responds.
The guys hear voices and feel strange energy even before the lockdown begins. Wolfe Manor is sure to be a hair-raising investigation.
This place is haunted by many ghosts the most violent of wich is the ghost of Anthony Andriotti a former owner who had a troubled life suffering from an alcohol and opium addiction. Anthony Andriotti died rather young in fact I beleive he was in his late 30′s and his addictions we’re fueled by financial ruin. Anthony likes to push people and try to kick them out of his former home.
Many other ghosts who haunt this place aren’t aware they are dead because they were elderly and died of things like tuberculosis and neglect because they had severe mental issues when this was known as Hazelwood Sanitarium and Clovis Avenue Sanitarium. Wolfe Manor actually has had thousands of deaths over the years and in fact at one time it averaged one death a day.
Off the top of my head I can actually list 34 ghosts who are mid range power wise and live at Wolfe Manor so I think any real investigation should be interesting and active to say the least. The second story is where I hope they spend the most of their time because it’s frequented by a ghost named Jimmy who I know if Zak uses provacation he’s going to regret it cause Jimmy is a cutter.
I can’t wait to watch this episode and I hope you enjoy it.

Ghost Adventures Zak Bagans vs. the Snakes
by ghostmap

This has got to be the funnest episode of Ghost adventures ever. Every time I think about it I can’t help but laugh.  The Ghost Adventure crew went to check out reports of haunting at the Old Idaho Penitentiary but were midway up Table Rock when it occurred to host Zak Bagans that there might be snakes snakes in the hills. He proceeded to spend the next several minutes ignoring the fact that a trail leads to the top, and instead, jumped around screaming and being worried about snakes while shouting “Dude” at regular intervals. Bagans then decided to face his fear and actually pick up a good-sized snake, then wondered if it was a rattlesnake (here’s a clue, rattlesnakes usually rattle). He was then perplexed when the snake turned in toward him proclaiming that the experience is just like Indiana Jones.

I don’t know if these guys do some of this stuff just for the comic relief effect or if they are always like this. If they are always like this I’d pay money to be able to watch them all day.

La Purisima Mission
by ghostmap

Ghost Adventures crew is investigating the La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, California this Friday at 9 PM E/P on the Travel Channel. The La Purisima Mission is a former Spanish residence of padres, soldiers and the native Chumash. The area is beautiful, but the air around it is heavy with the tragedy of disease and war. At La Purisima, the sounds of flutes and the voices of the long-gone inhabitants are reported to still linger. Trapped within its white-washed walls, the spirits seem bound to this land, forever locked in their struggle with each other.

The Return to Bobby Mackey
by ghostmap

The webisode chronicles the return of Zak, Nick, and Aaron to the setting for one the most intense lockdowns to date. Purported to be the portal to hell, Bobby Mackey’s Music World has a dark past that includes unrequited love, murder, and satanic rituals. Their first visit was a warning, this time the spirits mean business.

Ghost Adventures on Maury Povich Show
by ghostmap

Can’t wait for Season 2 of Ghost Adventures check out this footage of Ghost Adventures on Maury Povich Show. The seen where the ghost throws a brick at Zak is one of the most compelling pieces of video evidence ever filmed. I however find it rather funny that the Ghost Adventures crew would jump out a window to get away when that was what they were there to film in the first place. Ghost Adventures Rules!!
